Home match ticket sales

Updated on

For a home match, Sell tickets creates a ticket event in one go. After that everything works as with any event with tickets: online sales, scanners, sales at the door, extras and Ticket Studio. This can be done by an administrator or event manager, if the ticket system is turned on.

Step 1: Choose the match

Go to Manage matches and open the menu (⋮) of the match. Choose Sell tickets. The same button is at the top of the match page itself.

The button only appears for a home match that isn't cancelled, is played today or later, and doesn't have tickets yet. You can't sell tickets for an away match.

Step 2: Choose who can buy

Under Who can buy tickets?, Everyone (public) is selected by default: people without an account can also buy via the link. Choose Members only if only logged-in members should see and buy the event.

Step 3: Check the ticket types

Ticket types lists the types of the previous match you sold tickets for, with name, price and quantity. The extras and the Ticket Studio design of that match come along too. The sales window does not. If this is the first time, there is one type "Toegang" (entry).

Adjust the name, Price (€) and Quantity (0 = unlimited) and click Create. You land on the tickets of the new event, where you can set everything up further.

If you sell paid tickets online while payment for tickets hasn't been set up yet, 4planning first asks you to arrange that.

What you see afterwards

  • The event is called "Home team – Away team", starts at kick-off, lasts two hours and is held at the match venue.
  • The match shows "Tickets: N sold" with Manage and, for a public event, Share link.
  • In the menu, the button is now called Manage tickets.
  • Members see a Buy tickets button on the match page, and the fixture list shows a Tickets label.
  • In the calendar the match appears once, with the link to the tickets.

Rescheduled or cancelled

4planning checks every fifteen minutes whether the match has changed, whether that comes through Sportlink or because you edited it yourself.

  • Rescheduled – the event moves along to the new date, time or location. If tickets have been sold, the administrators get a notification. Let the buyers know yourself; the notification points you to Save and notify members… at the bottom of the event.
  • Cancelled – online sales stop immediately. Nothing is refunded automatically. If tickets have been sold, the administrators get a notification; refunds are made by a system administrator by cancelling the event.
  • Back on after all – you get a notification, but online sales stay closed. Reopen them yourself at the ticket types.
