Personalising tickets with Ticket Studio

Updated on

With Ticket Studio you design how the PDF ticket for an event (or for one specific ticket type) looks — a drag-and-drop design window, not a separate feature you need to turn on or pay for. Particularly useful when every event needs its own look, as at a carnival association or a catering company.

Opening Ticket Studio

Go to the Tickets tab of your event and click the pencil icon Design next to a ticket type. This lets you create a separate design per ticket type (for example a different design for VIP tickets), or one design for the whole event.

Starting from a template

Choose one of five starting points: Standard, Festival, Modern, Photo or Blank. This immediately fills the design with a matching layout that you then adjust to your liking.

Designing

On the left you'll find four categories for adding elements:

  • Text — heading, subheading or plain text, editable directly.
  • Shapes — rectangle, circle, triangle or line.
  • Image — upload your own image, or reuse your event's cover photo.
  • Background — pick a colour from the palette or set your own colour.

Drag each element to the position you want, and use the corner handles to resize. Smart alignment guides appear as you drag an element towards the centre. Use Ctrl/Cmd+Z to undo, Ctrl/Cmd+D to duplicate an element.

The QR code is included by default and can be moved and resized, but not removed — it needs to be on every ticket.

Previewing and saving

  • PDF preview — see the actual ticket as it will look.
  • Save — saves your design for this ticket type or event.
  • Restore default — permanently removes your own design and falls back to the organisation-wide default design. This asks for confirmation first.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I reuse my design for a future event? Not automatically — each event and ticket type has its own design. Duplicating a ticket type within the same event does carry the design over to the copy though.
  • Do I need to turn Ticket Studio on separately, or pay for it? No, as soon as ticketing is active you can get started right away — no separate setting or cost.
  • I want more room on the ticket, can the QR code go? No, it must always be on the ticket; you can make it smaller or move it though.
  • Can I go back to my design from before I clicked "Restore default"? No, that's permanent — you'll need to rebuild the design, or use Save along the way as a safety net going forward.
