Can I check tickets manually?

Updated on

Yes, in 4planning you can also check tickets manually. This is useful when a QR code cannot be scanned or when you want to look up a participant quickly.

When would you check manually?

Manual checking is useful in situations such as:

  • The QR code cannot be scanned.
  • The visitor does not have their ticket with them.
  • There is a technical problem with the scanner.
  • You want to check someone in advance.

Searching for a ticket manually

  1. Go to the event in question.
  2. Scroll to the Ticket sales card and choose the right tab.
  3. Search by name or email address in the search bar above the table.

You can now check whether the person has a valid ticket.

Registering attendance manually

Once you have found the right participant, you can adjust their attendance manually.

  1. Click the menu icon (⋮) on the right of the row.
  2. Choose Check in manually (or Undo check-in if the ticket is already checked in).

The status updates immediately. See Managing a ticket order for the other actions in this menu, such as resending tickets by email or copying the ticket link.

Tips for effective use

  • Only check manually when necessary.
  • Make sure volunteers know how this works.
  • Always verify identity when in doubt.

Good to know

  • Manual checking prevents long queues.
  • Real-time registration stays active.
  • This helps keep access running smoothly.
