A ticket can't be scanned

Updated on

When a ticket cannot be scanned in 4planning, there can be several causes. Below are the most common reasons and how to solve them.

The ticket has already been scanned

A ticket can only be used once. When a ticket has already been scanned, a red screen appears.

  • Check whether the visitor has already been registered as present.
  • Check the attendance or check-in overview.

The ticket does not belong to this event

A ticket can only be scanned at the right event.

  • Check that the right scanner is being used.
  • Check the date and the event.

The scanner has no rights for this ticket

Every scanner can be set up for specific ticket types.

  • Check whether the ticket is permitted within the scanner settings.
  • Adjust the permitted tickets if needed.

The QR code is not clearly visible

A damaged or poorly visible QR code cannot be scanned.

  • Increase screen brightness.
  • Have the visitor open the QR code again.
  • Use the membership card or ticket again.

Poor internet connection

The scanner needs an internet connection to check tickets.

  • Check the connection.
  • Use mobile data as a backup.

The event has not started yet

Sometimes a ticket cannot be accepted while the event is not yet active.

  • Check the event's date and time.

The ticket is not valid

A ticket can be invalid when:

  • The sales period has expired.
  • The ticket has been cancelled.
  • The ticket belongs to a different ticket type.

Technical problem

Sometimes a technical problem temporarily prevents tickets from being scanned.

  • Refresh the scanner.
  • Log in again.
  • Use a different device.

Tips for effective use

  • Test scanners before the event.
  • Make sure you have stable internet.
  • Use several scanners when it is busy.
