Deactivating a ticket scanner

Updated on

In 4planning you can easily deactivate a ticket scanner when it may no longer be used, temporarily or permanently. This is useful when a device is lost, when staff change, or when an entrance is no longer active.

Step 1: Go to the event

  1. Open the event in question.
  2. Choose Edit event.

Step 2: Deactivate the scanner

  1. Scroll down to the Ticket scanners section.
  2. Click Deactivate next to the scanner you want to disable.

When should you deactivate a scanner?

  • When a device is lost or stolen.
  • When an entrance is no longer in use.
  • When staff or volunteers change.

Tips for effective use

  • Deactivate scanners immediately when there is a security risk.
  • Check regularly which scanners are active.
  • Use clear names so you keep an overview.

Good to know

  • Deactivating has no effect on tickets already scanned.
  • You can reactivate a scanner later.
  • This increases the security of access control.
