Understanding ticket settings

Updated on

Under Settings → Ticket settings you'll find three cards. Two of them are only visible and editable by the 4planning team, not by a regular administrator of your association or company.

Wallet tickets (4planning only)

Determines the branding on Apple Wallet and Google Wallet tickets (name on the pass, ticket colour). If this is off, wallet tickets use the standard 4planning style. Want something adjusted here? Get in touch with 4planning.

Ticket design PDF (4planning only)

This is the organisation-wide default for your ticket PDFs: layout (Modern or Classic), colours, and a default background that appears whenever an event itself has no cover photo. Want to adjust this for a specific event or ticket type instead? Use Ticket Studio — you can do that entirely yourself.

Invoices (self-service)

This part you do set up yourself. It lets buyers download their ticket order as an invoice or payment confirmation, in your branding. Most associations and foundations aren't VAT-registered businesses — in that case, just choose the first option.

  1. Turn on "Enable invoices / payment confirmations".
  2. Choose your VAT regime: not a VAT-registered business, VAT-exempt, small business scheme (KOR), or VAT-liable.
  3. If you're VAT-liable, also fill in your default VAT rate, VAT number and Chamber of Commerce number. You can still set a different VAT rate per ticket type on the event itself.
  4. Optionally fill in an invoice number prefix (for example "2026-") and an extra legal notice.

Note: your address, postcode and city (under General settings) are required for a valid document.

What's not configurable here

Some things are deliberately fixed platform-wide, so they're not a setting: the payment provider (always Mollie), the service fee per ticket (a fixed amount), and who may create tickets (any administrator of the environment). Default sign-up fields aren't set here either, but per event via the Sign-up fields button.

Frequently asked questions

  • I only see a notice instead of the wallet and PDF settings. That's correct — those two cards are reserved for the 4planning team. Get in touch if you'd like something changed here.
  • I changed the organisation-wide ticket design, but already-sold tickets still look the same. That's normal: existing tickets don't update automatically. Ask 4planning to regenerate them if you'd like that — the QR code stays valid either way.
  • Can I adjust the service fee myself? No, that's fixed platform-wide.
