Editing a news item

You can change an existing news item when the content, audience or languages change. This article explains how to edit a news item step by step.

Step 1: Go to News

  1. Log in to your 4planning environment.
  2. Click Communication in the menu.
  3. Then click News.

Step 2: Open the news item

  1. Find the news item you want to change in the overview.
  2. Click the news item to open its detail page.
  3. You are now editing the news item directly.

Step 3: Change the content

Title

Change the title of the news item if needed.

Image

You can change an existing image or upload a new one.

Content

Change the text of the news item. You can use formatting such as:

  • Bold and italic
  • Bullet points
  • Links

Step 4: Manage languages

You can edit the news item in several languages.

  • Add or change a title and content per language.
  • You can use Dutch, English and German, for example.

Members automatically see the news item in the language set in their profile. Notifications are sent in that language too.

When a language has not been filled in, the system may show a default language.

Step 5: Adjust visibility

Groups

You can change which groups may see the news item.

  • All members
  • Specific groups

Always check that the right audience is selected.

Step 6: Sending notifications

After editing you can decide whether members receive a new notification.

  • Yes: members receive a notification about the change in their chosen language.
  • No: the item is only updated in the app.

Step 7: Save your changes

  1. Check all the details.
  2. Click Save.

The news item is updated immediately.

Tips for effective use

  • Use notifications when important information changes.
  • Always check the languages and audience after editing.
  • Keep news items current to avoid misunderstandings.

Good to know

  • Members always see the latest version of the news item.
  • Changes are immediately visible to the selected groups.
  • Notifications are sent in the user's own language.
