Uploading a document doesn't work
When uploading a document in 4planning does not work, there can be several causes. This article covers the most common problems and how to solve them.
Check your storage
Every organisation has a maximum amount of storage. Once that is reached, you cannot upload new files.
- Go to the Documents tab.
- Check the available storage.
- Delete old or duplicate files if needed.
Check the file format
In 4planning you can upload almost any type of file, but a damaged or invalid file can cause problems.
- Check that the file works correctly on your own device.
- Try downloading and uploading the file again.
Check the file size
Files that are too large cannot be uploaded.
- Compress the file.
- Use compression or a lower resolution, for example.
Check your rights
Not every user has permission to upload documents.
- Check that you are a member of the right group.
- Check that you have rights to add files.
- Contact an administrator if needed.
Check your internet connection
An unstable connection can disrupt the upload.
- Try again.
- Use a stable internet connection.
Browser or app problems
Sometimes a browser setting or the cache causes problems.
- Refresh the page or restart the app.
- Clear cookies and cache.
- Try a different browser.
Tips for effective use
- Use clear file names.
- Check your storage regularly.
- Keep the document environment organised.
