Paying your membership fee
On your own membership fee page, each subscription has its own card. It shows how you pay, what is due soon and what you have already paid.
Step 1: Open your membership fee page
- Log in to 4planning.
- Go to Membership fees in the menu.
For each subscription you see a card with:
- How would you like to pay? — your payment method, and whether you can change it yourself.
- Upcoming payments — the instalments still outstanding, with amount and status, and the date of the next instalment.
- Payment history — click it to see your earlier payments.
If you have more than one subscription, each one has its own card. If you also pay for your children, their cards are under My family's contribution.
Step 2: Pay
What you need to do depends on your payment method:
- iDEAL — click Pay now at the outstanding instalment in the card and complete the payment in your banking environment.
- Automatic direct debit — you do not have to do anything, as long as your mandate is active. The amount is collected automatically.
- Outside the app — you pay your association directly, by bank transfer or in cash. The card shows the amount, the due date and, if your association has set one, an email address for questions. Your association marks the instalment as paid once the money arrives.
Paying from the email
An email about your membership fee contains a button, for example Pay € 46.00 or Set up direct debit. You don't need to log in for it:
- Click the button in the email. You see a page with your club, the membership fee and the amount.
- Click Pay (or Set up direct debit) and complete the payment with your bank.
- You return to a confirmation. The payment then also shows in the app.
If you cancelled the payment or something went wrong, simply use the same button again. If the instalment has already been paid, the page tells you so. The button works for 60 days; after that, log in and pay from your membership fee page.
If you are under 18 and set up the direct debit yourself, you first tick a box to confirm your parent or guardian knows about it. If your parent or guardian is linked to your account, they arrange the direct debit.
Switching between direct debit and iDEAL yourself
Under How would you like to pay? you see both methods; the method that currently applies is marked Current. Choose the other one with Choose this. You first get a confirmation: you can only switch once a day, so you see what will happen before it goes ahead. Click Yes, change to continue. You switch to direct debit by signing a mandate.
If you have several subscriptions, you choose per card how you pay that subscription.
If instead you only see Automatic direct debit with the explanation that your association collects this way, your association has chosen direct debit only for this membership. If you want to pay differently, contact your association. If you pay outside the app, you do not see this choice; the card then explains how you pay.
A notice in the app
If something is outstanding that you need to act on, you see a notice at the bottom of your screen: your membership fee is due or overdue, a payment failed, or there is no mandate yet for a direct debit. This also applies to your children's membership fees. The button takes you straight to the right subscription. You can close the notice; as long as the payment is outstanding, it comes back on your next visit. If your direct debit is running normally, you do not get a notice.
The statuses explained
- Open — still to be paid.
- Overdue — the due date has passed and nothing has been paid yet.
- Processing — your payment has started but has not been finally processed.
- Paid — completed, you are up to date.
- Failed — the payment did not go through. You will be notified with a new payment link.
- Cancelled — the association has withdrawn the instalment and you do not have to pay it.
Frequently asked questions
- I am paying more than the membership fee. SEPA and iDEAL payments carry a service charge: € 1.00, or € 0.60 if your association has connected its own Mollie account. See Service charges on membership fees.
- I transferred the money but it is still showing as outstanding. If you pay outside the app, the association marks the instalment as paid itself. That can take a few days.
- I disagree with an amount. Contact your association; only they can change or cancel an instalment.
- Can I pay everything at once? You pay per outstanding instalment. If several are open, you go through them one by one.
