Logging in to 4planning
Can't get in? This article covers where and how you log in, what to do if you've lost your password or have never logged in, and what the error messages mean. At the bottom you'll find how to put 4planning on your phone.
Where do you log in?
There is one place: app.4planning.nl. It works in any browser, on your laptop and on your phone.
Prefer an app? There is one:
- Search the App Store or Google Play for 4planning.
- Install the app and open it.
- Log in with the same account you use in the browser.
You use the same account everywhere. What you do in the app shows up in the browser straight away, and the other way round. Member of more than one club? Still one account: after logging in you pick which environment you want to be in — see One account at multiple organizations.
Which login method?
There are four ways in. They all lead to the same account, so pick whichever is easiest for you.
- Email address and password — the regular way, and it always works everywhere.
- Log in with Google — handy if your email address is a Gmail or Google Workspace address. No password to remember.
- Log in with Apple — handy on an iPhone or iPad, or if you use an Apple ID with that address.
- Passkey (fingerprint or face recognition) — the fastest way: you confirm with your finger or face instead of a password. You set up a passkey from your account once you're logged in.
One catch with Google and Apple: they only work if your account at your club is on the same email address. Log in with a Google address your club doesn't know and 4planning won't find your account. Not sure which address is on file? Ask your club's administrator.
Forgot your password
- On the login screen, click Forgot password.
- Enter the email address your club has on file.
- You'll receive an email with a link to choose a new password.
That link is only valid for a short time, so use it right away. If it has expired, simply request a new one.
No email? Check your spam or junk folder, and make sure you entered the right address. Still nothing, and your account is probably on a different email address — only your own club can look that up for you.
I have never logged in
Then you don't have a password yet, and that's normal. Your club sends you an invitation or activation email. It contains a button that takes you straight in and lets you choose a password on the spot.
No email? Ask your club's administrator or membership secretary to send it again. We can't do that for you: your account belongs to your club, and only they can access it.
Error messages and what they mean
"Invalid email address or password" — one of the two is wrong. Check for typos and for a stray space after your email address. Not sure about the password? Use Forgot password.
"Maximum number of login attempts reached" — after ten failed attempts, logging in is blocked for fifteen minutes. That's a protection against abuse and it clears by itself. Wait a quarter of an hour and try again; in the meantime you can already request a new password.
"Logging in is not possible for this account" — your account is blocked, or it is a managed account. The latter happens with children: their account is managed by a parent, who logs in instead. Contact your club.
Two-step verification
Does your club have two-step verification switched on, or did you enable it yourself? Then after your password, 4planning asks for a six-digit code from your authenticator app.
Lost that app or your phone? You can help yourself: on the screen asking for the code there is a link to send yourself an email. The link in that email switches two-step verification off. That email always goes to your account's email address, and the link does not log you in — afterwards you simply log in with your password and set two-step verification up again.
There are no recovery codes: your own mailbox is the way back.
The app on your phone
You get the 4planning app from the App Store or Google Play. Some clubs have their own app icon with their logo — it's still the same app, it just looks like your club's on your home screen.
Don't want to install anything? Put the website on your home screen as a shortcut:
- iPhone: open app.4planning.nl in Safari, tap the share button and choose Add to Home Screen.
- Android: open app.4planning.nl in Chrome, tap the menu (three dots) and choose Add to home screen.
You then have an icon that opens straight away, without getting anything from a store.
Still stuck?
Contact the administrator or membership secretary of your own club. They can see your account, check your email address, invite you again and lift a block. We can't do that for you — your details are held by your club, and only they may access them.
