Invitation not received
When a member or user does not receive an invitation email, there can be several causes. This article explains what to check and which steps to take.
Check the email address
First check that the email address was entered correctly.
- Go to Organisation > Members.
- Open the user.
- Check that the email address is correct.
A small typo can stop the invitation from arriving.
Check the spam or junk folder
Ask the user to check their spam or junk folder as well.
- The invitation is sometimes filtered automatically.
Resend the invitation
You can easily send the invitation again.
- Go to Organisation > Members.
- Click Pending invitations.
- Select the user.
- Click Send invitations.
Check the user's email settings
The email may be blocked by a spam filter or company policy.
- Ask the user to add the domain to their safe senders.
- Ask for an alternative email address if needed.
Technical delay
In some cases email delivery can be delayed.
- Wait a few minutes and try again.
Last resort: recreate the user
If the invitation still does not arrive, it can help to delete the user and create them again manually.
- Delete the user from the member overview.
- Create the user again.
- Send a new invitation.
In most cases this solves the problem.
Tips for effective use
- Check email addresses carefully.
- Use personal email addresses where possible.
- Check the invitation before adding large groups.
Good to know
- Invitations can always be resent.
- Most problems are caused by spam filters or typos.
- Creating a new user is often the fastest solution.
