Creating a photo album
A photo album belongs to a single occasion: a tournament, an outing, an anniversary. That way the photos of that day stay together instead of ending up in one big folder.
Step 1: Go to Photo albums
- Sign in to your 4planning environment.
- In the left-hand menu, go to Photo albums.
Not seeing that menu item? Then the feature is still switched off. An administrator turns it on under Settings › Features › Photo albums.
Step 2: Click New album
The New album button is in the top right. You fill in:
- Name — for example "Summer tournament 2026".
- When was it? — the date of the occasion. Albums are sorted by this date, newest first.
- Short description — optional, shown on the album card.
Step 3: Decide who may see the album
Tick the groups that may view the album. If you tick nothing, the album is visible to all members of your environment.
If you create the album from a group page, it is linked to that group automatically and only that group's members see it.
Step 4: Choose whether to notify members
At the bottom is the switch Notify members about this album. It is off by default.
- Off — the album is simply visible in the app, but no push notification goes out. Handy if you set the album up in advance and add the photos later.
- On — everyone who may see the album gets one push notification, if they have those notifications switched on.
If you switch it on, you see beforehand how many people will be notified.
Who may create an album?
Administrators only, by default. If you want members to be able to as well, set Settings › Access & privacy › Photo albums › Who may add albums and photos? to Everyone.
A group administrator may always create an album for their own group, even when that setting is on Administrators.
