Saying whether you want to be in photos

Not everyone wants to appear recognisably in photos. You can indicate that per club, so administrators know before they post photos.

Step 1: Go to My account

1. Click your name in the top right and choose My account.
2. Go to the Privacy & gegevens tab.

Step 2: Find the row Photos of me

It is at the bottom of the Who sees what about you block. You choose between three settings:

• Not chosen — the starting position. You have not said anything about this yet.
• No objection — you are fine with appearing in photos.
• Rather not — administrators see this before they post photos.

Your choice applies to this club. If you are in several environments, you set it per environment. That is deliberate: you may feel differently about it at your music club than at work.

What this choice does and does not do

This matters: 4planning cannot see who is in a photo. There is no facial recognition, and we do not want it. So your choice does not stop any photo.

What it does do:

• Whoever publishes an album sees that there are members who would rather not be in the picture.
• Your club has an overview of who objected. That is what privacy law asks of the club.

Is it about one particular photo you are in? Then use the Report a photo button in the album. That does work directly: the photo is hidden immediately. See Reporting a photo.

For youth members

With a managed account, the parent or guardian makes this choice. That is stated on screen as well.

For administrators

Under Settings › Access & privacy › Photo albums you see how many members have no objection, how many would rather not be in the picture, and how many have not chosen anything yet.

That last group is not consent. That someone filled in nothing only means they may never have seen the question.

Frequently asked questions

Can I undo my choice? Yes, at any time, including back to Not chosen.

Do other members see my choice? No, only administrators.

Does this also apply to my profile photo? No. You set that yourself, in your profile settings.
