Training settings and holiday periods
Under Trainings › Settings (visible to administrators only) you set how trainings look in your environment and how cancelling works.
The name of the feature
Under Wording you choose what the feature is called for members: training, rehearsal, lesson or practice. This choice changes the text everywhere — the page title, the menu, push notifications and emails — not just in one place. A music association would pick "rehearsal" here.
How cancelling works
- Cancellation mode — free (no reason needed), with reason (reason required, final straight away) or on request (must be approved). See cancelling your attendance for a training for how this works for members.
- Cancellation deadline — how many hours in advance a member may still cancel. Set it to 0 for no deadline.
- Who decides — only visible in "on request" mode: group administrator, environment administrator, or both. If no group administrator has been assigned for a group, the decision automatically falls back to the environment administrators — so a request never stays undecided.
Holidays
At the bottom of the settings page you add holidays: periods in which the generator creates no trainings, regardless of what a series says.
- Click Add holiday.
- Choose the start and end date of the period.
- Optionally enter a name, for example "Summer holiday" or "Christmas holiday".
- Save.
A holiday applies to all series in the environment. When you generate (again) afterwards, the generator skips every date within that period. You remove a holiday with the bin button next to the relevant row.
Frequently asked questions
I changed the word from "training" to "rehearsal", but older messages still say "training". New push notifications, emails and pages use the new word right away; messages that were already sent don't change retroactively.
I added a holiday period, but there are still trainings in that week. A holiday only takes effect when you (re)generate — trainings that were already created in that period don't disappear by themselves. Go to the series and generate again, or delete those trainings manually.
Can I set a different cancellation mode per group? No, the cancellation mode, deadline and decision-maker apply to the whole environment, not per group or series.
Who may change these settings? Only the environment administrator — a group administrator can review cancellation requests (if "who decides" allows it), but cannot open this settings page.
