Scheduling referees as an administrator
As an administrator you schedule referees via Manage referees. At the top you see at a glance how many matches still need a referee, how many are already assigned, and whether any substitutions are in progress.
Who is a referee?
Expand "Manage referees" to add or remove members as a referee. Only members with this role appear as a candidate when assigning.
Assigning one match
- Find the match in the list (only home matches can be assigned here).
- Click Assign.
- Choose whether this is for the head referee or an assistant.
- Choose from the suggested candidates — this list automatically accounts for fair distribution (whoever has refereed a lot recently ranks lower), team preferences and availability.
Want to undo an assignment? Click Remove assignment.
Generating a schedule in one go
Click Generate to choose a period. The app then automatically fills in all open home matches in that period with a fair distribution. This produces a draft that you review first — only after Activating does the schedule actually go live. Not happy with it? Click Discard.
Assigning matches to a group
You can also assign a match to an entire group instead of one person — the first person from that group to claim the match referees it. This also happens automatically if your club has linked Sportlink teams to a "referee group": new home matches then automatically get an open assignment to that group.
Exporting
Use the export button for a CSV overview of the schedule, including contact details — only visible to the planner.
Frequently asked questions
- Why don't I see away matches in this overview? Only home matches are scheduled here; for away matches, the opponent arranges the referee.
- A match came in from Sportlink already with a referee — how? If the team is linked to a "referee group," the sync automatically assigns an open assignment to that group. A manually assigned referee is never overwritten by the sync.
- The candidate list shows someone who actually can't. Availability and preferences factor into the order, but don't always fully exclude someone — check that referee's availability.
- Can I still adjust the draft schedule before activating it? Yes, review and adjust individual assignments before clicking Activate.
