Managing your refereeing duties

Are you a referee at your club? On Referees you manage all your refereeing duties.

Don't see any content here, just the message "You're not a referee (yet)"? Let your club know you'd like to referee — an administrator assigns you the role.

My matches

Your upcoming refereeing assignments are listed with a label:

• Assigned — you're personally assigned.
• Claimable — assigned to a group you belong to; whoever claims it first referees the match.
• Substitute needed — a substitute request is in progress.

Claiming a match

Is a match "Claimable"? Open the match and click "I'll referee this match". If someone beats you to it, you'll get a friendly notice — first click wins.

Confirming attendance

Are you assigned to a match? Click "Confirm you'll be there" beforehand, so the club knows you'll show up.

Requesting a substitute

Can't make it after all? Click "I can't make it — request a substitute":

1. Optionally choose a specific fellow referee, or leave it blank so the planner arranges it.
2. Give a short reason.
3. Confirm.

You stay assigned until the substitute is arranged. If you asked a specific colleague, only they get a request with "Yes, I'll take it" / "No". If you left it open, all administrators see the request. Only one substitute request can be open per match at a time.

Sharing your availability

On the Availability tab you indicate when you can't referee:

• Recurring — for example always Saturday morning.
• One-off — a period with a start and end date and part of the day.

If you leave this empty, the planner assumes you're always available.

Team preferences

Indicate per team whether you'd prefer, are neutral, or would rather not referee that team. These preferences are only visible to the match planner, not to other referees.

Setting notifications

On the Settings tab you turn push and email on or off per notification type: new assignment, change, reminder beforehand (with the number of days in advance), and substitute requests.

Frequently asked questions

• I can see the page, but nothing shows up. Ask your club to give you the referee role.
• Can I indicate I never want to referee a certain team? You can't currently set this yourself via "Rather not" alone — contact your match planner for this.
• I requested a substitute but can't request a second one. Only one open substitute request per match is allowed at a time.
• Why am I not getting notified of a new assignment anymore? Check your preferences on the Settings tab — push or email might be off for that notification type.
