Presenting and showing awards (honorary member, anniversary, badge)
With Awards you record who in your club has received which honour: an honorary membership, an anniversary pin for 25 years of membership, a certificate, a badge or an order. Every presentation gets a date, optionally a presenter and a note — plus an image in your own club colours that you can share.
Have you been recording this as a custom field so far? That can stay, but a custom field has two limits that do not apply here: it holds only one value per member (so no second presentation of the same award), and you have to choose between a date or a description.
Turning the feature on
Go to Settings → Features and switch on Awards. Awards then appears in the menu.
Step 1: Create an award
- Go to Awards and click New award.
- Give it a name — for example "Member of merit", "25 years a member" or "Badge of honour".
- Optionally fill in a description: what is it presented for?
- Choose the visibility (see below).
- Choose a template for the image. You immediately see a preview with the name, the year, your club name and your logo in it.
There are four templates: Medal with ribbon, Laurel wreath, Shield and Plain.
Step 2: Present it to one or more members
- Click Present.
- Choose the award and the date of the presentation.
- Look up the members who receive it. You can choose several at once; each gets their own presentation.
- Optionally fill in who presented it and a short note ("Presented at the annual meeting").
- Leave Let the member know switched on if a message may go out.
You can also present from the member: open the member via Members and use the Present button on the Awards tab.
Visibility: three settings
- Hall of honour — visible on the member's profile, in the hall of honour and in the member directory. This is the default.
- Members — only on the member's profile. So it does not appear in the hall of honour.
- Board only — only administrators see it. Not even the member themselves.
The note you fill in is visible to everyone who may see the award. So do not put anything confidential in it.
Where to find them
- Hall of honour — the overview of everything presented, filterable by year and by award.
- On the member — the Awards tab, as a collection with the most recent first.
- My account — every member sees their own awards there.
- Member export — a single "Awards" column with the name and date per member.
Sharing the image
Click the medal icon on a presentation. You see the image full size, with the name, the year, your club name and your logo. Download gives you an image you can put in a news item, a group chat or on social media.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enter awards from the past without messages going out? Yes. As soon as you pick a date in the past, Let the member know switches itself off. You can still switch it back on if you want to.
Can a member receive the same award twice? Yes. Every presentation stands on its own, with its own date and note.
What happens if I delete an award? All of its presentations disappear as well. If you only want to stop presenting it, choose Archive: everything already presented simply stays.
Can I withdraw a presentation? Yes, with the bin icon on that presentation. The member is not notified of this.
Does a member always get a message? Only if you tick that box, and if the member has this notification switched on in My account → Notifications. When presenting to several members you see in advance how many of them will actually be notified.
