Copying an event

The Copy event function lets you duplicate an existing event easily. This is handy when you organise recurring events such as training sessions, meetings or gatherings.

Step 1: Go to Events

  1. Log in to your 4planning environment.
  2. Click Communication in the menu.
  3. Then click Events.

Step 2: Open the event

  1. Find the event you want to copy in the overview.
  2. Click that event to open its detail page.

Step 3: Copy the event

  1. Go to the Admin block on the right.
  2. Click Copy event.

A window opens where you can set the details of the new event.

Step 4: Set the details of the new event

Name

Change the event name if needed. By default the name of the existing event is used.

Start date and time

Select the new start date and time for the event.

End date and time

Set the end date and time.

Registration deadline

Indicate up to when participants can sign up for the event.

Copy attendance as well?

Decide whether the attendees of the original event are carried over.

  • Yes – The attendees are copied to the new event.
  • No – The new event starts without attendees.

Step 5: Copy the event

  1. Click Copy event.

The new event is created and appears in the overview straight away.

Tips for effective use

  • Use this for recurring events such as meetings or training sessions.
  • Always check the date, location and deadline after copying.
  • Adjust the invitation and participants if needed.
