In 4planning you can easily delete documents. Removing files keeps your document environment organised. This article explains how.

Step 1: Go to Documents

  1. Log in to your 4planning environment.
  2. Go to Documents in the left-hand menu.

Step 2: Open the right folder

Navigate to the folder the document is in.

  • Choose the right folder.
  • Only members with access to this folder can see the document.

Step 3: Delete the document

  1. Find the document you want to delete.
  2. Right-click the file.

You now see two options. Click the bottom one, Delete.

  • Rename – Change the document's name.
  • Delete – Remove the document from the folder.

Who may delete?

By default only administrators delete. Under Settings › Access & privacy › Documents › Who may delete and manage? you choose Everyone, Administrators or System administrators only. That choice also covers renaming, moving and sharing.

Don't see the Delete option in the menu of a file or folder? Then you don't have that right in this environment. A deleted document cannot be restored, so keep this setting narrow if you can.

Tips for effective use

  • Delete old or duplicate documents.
  • Keep folders organised.

Good to know

  • Deleting cannot be undone.
  • Access to documents is determined by groups.
  • Changes are immediately visible to users with access.
