Claiming a bar shift with or without approval

Updated on

Decide for yourself whether members can claim a bar shift directly or whether an administrator has to approve it first.

Two ways of signing up

When creating a bar shift you choose how members can sign up:

1. Immediately guaranteed

  • Members can sign themselves up directly
  • The bar shift is confirmed straight away
  • Ideal for fast, simple planning

2. Approval required

  • Members apply for the bar shift
  • An administrator has to approve the sign-up first
  • Only then is the place definitively assigned

When do you choose which?

Claiming directly is useful when:

  • You trust your members
  • Speed and convenience matter
  • Bar shifts can be filled flexibly

Approval required is useful when:

  • You want to keep control over the planning
  • Specific people are needed
  • You want to prevent no-shows

What do members see?

  • With direct claiming: confirmed straight away
  • With approval: the status "pending" until it is approved

Tip

Use approval for important or busy moments, and direct claiming for standard bar shifts 👍
