In 4planning you cannot change an existing subscription directly. When a member needs a different fee plan, you pause or cancel the current subscription and then create a new one.

Why can't subscriptions be edited directly?

This approach keeps the financial administration clear and prevents mistakes in payments and history.

  • All previous instalments stay correctly recorded.
  • The administration stays clear.
  • Changes are easy to follow.

Step 1: Go to the subscriptions

  1. Go to Finance in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click Membership fees.
  3. Open the Subscriptions tab.

Step 2: Pause or cancel the existing subscription

  1. Open the member's subscription.
  2. Choose Pause or Cancel.

Pausing suits temporary situations. Use cancelling when the subscription stops for good.

Step 3: Create a new subscription

After pausing or cancelling you can set up a new subscription with a different fee plan.

  • Choose the right plan.
  • Set the payment method.
  • Enter the start date.

Tips for effective use

  • Check the agreements with the member first.
  • Use notes or your administration for extra context.
  • Make sure changes are communicated clearly.

Good to know

  • Subscription history is preserved.
  • This prevents mistakes in payments.
  • You keep an overview of your financial administration.
