When a group is set to open, users can join by themselves.
- Go to All groups in the left-hand menu.
- Look through the overview of available groups.
- Choose the group you want to join.
- Join the group.
Once they have joined, the user immediately has access to the information and communication within that group.
An administrator links members to groups
When a group is set to By invitation, a user cannot join on their own. In that case an administrator adds them.
- Go to Settings > Groups.
- Open the group.
- Go to Members.
- Add one or more users.
The user then gains access to the group.
Why groups matter

This helps share information in a targeted and secure way.
Tips for effective use

- Use invitation-only groups for confidential collaboration.
- Check regularly that members are in the right groups.
Good to know
- Users only see information from groups they belong to.
- Groups are the basis of collaboration and visibility.
- Administrators can add or remove members at any time.
