Linking your website to the lead inbox

Updated on

Do you have your own website (for example on WordPress) with a contact form? Link it to 4planning, so every enquiry arrives directly in your Leads inbox.

  1. Go to Leads and click Website link.
  2. Click Generate API key. You'll see a key and a ready-made link URL once — save these immediately, because for security reasons the key won't be shown again afterwards.
  3. In your form plugin, add a webhook action that posts to this URL:
    • Elementor: Actions after submit → Webhook.
    • WPForms, Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms: use the plugin's webhook action/add-on.
    • Contact Form 7: use a webhook add-on.
  4. Tick "Link active (accept leads)" and save.
  5. Do a test submission on your website and check that the lead appears in the inbox.

Fields recognised automatically

The link automatically recognises common field names, such as naam/name, email, telefoon/phone, bericht/message, bedrijfsnaam/company, onderwerp/subject, address, postcode, town and website. Fields that aren't recognised aren't lost — they're stored separately with the lead.

Spam settings

  • Spam threshold (default 75) — leads scoring above this are automatically marked as spam. A spam lead is never discarded, only labelled separately, so you never accidentally miss a genuine enquiry.
  • Max. per hour (per IP) (default 30) — protects against a flood of submissions from the same IP address.

Notifications

For every new, non-spam lead, all administrators of your environment get a push notification (on by default) and, if desired, an email (turn this on yourself via My account). Spam leads don't trigger a notification.

Frequently asked questions

  • I've lost the API key. Click Website link again and generate a new key — the old one then stops working.
  • Can I also add a lead manually? Yes, use the button to create a lead manually, even without a website link.
  • Does this work with any website builder? As long as your form plugin supports a webhook (POST to a URL), the link works. WordPress with Elementor, WPForms, Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms or Contact Form 7 is directly supported.
  • Can files be sent along from the form? No, the link only processes text fields. You can add attachments manually to a lead in the inbox though.
