Users are not logging in

Updated on

It happens regularly that users do not log in straight away after an invitation. That does not mean something is wrong — usually the right explanation or motivation is missing. Below are the most common causes and solutions.

Users have not seen the invitation

Sometimes the email lands in spam or gets overlooked.

  • Ask users to check their spam folder.
  • Resend the invitation.
  • Use a short announcement through existing channels.

The value of 4planning is not clear yet

Users log in faster when they understand what the benefit is for them.

  • Explain why you work with 4planning.
  • Tell them what they can do with it.
  • Make clear that communication runs through 4planning.

There is too little content

When the environment is empty, users see little reason to log in.

  • Post news, events and documents in advance.
  • Make sure users can do something straight away.

Users have no time or forget

Reminders help prompt action.

  • Send a reminder.
  • Use push notifications once they have the app.
  • Set a clear start date.

Technical problems

In some cases users run into technical obstacles.

  • Check that the email address is correct.
  • Let users reset their password.
  • Ask them to reinstall the app.

No support within the organisation

When the board or leadership is not active, users often do not follow.

  • Let key people set the example.
  • Encourage group administrators to communicate actively.

Tips for increasing adoption

  • Start with a small pilot group.
  • Communicate consistently.
  • Make 4planning the central place.

Good to know

  • Adoption takes time.
  • Repetition and communication matter.
  • The more value you offer, the more active users become.
